Why do Oopbuy's weighed QC photos matter to an AliExpress shopper?

On AliExpress you never see a weight: the shipping cost is folded into the item price or shown per store at checkout. Once you buy through an agent, shipping is billed on the whole parcel by weight — and weight is the number buyers most often guess wrong. Oopbuy shows it at the QC stage:

Per-item weights let you plan early. By the time the QC photos arrive you know whether four hoodies and a pair of boxed trainers will squeeze under a 3 kg price break or tip over it. One Oopbuy reviewer described an estimate of 600 g becoming 1,000 g at billing and blamed the packaging; with the item weights in hand, that jump was easy to question.

What a scale photo can't show is volumetric weight — the size-based weight couriers charge when a box is big and light. Shoe boxes are the usual culprit. Ask for them to be removed, or the box compressed, before the parcel is packed.

Verdict: Oopbuy's weight photos are the closest an agent gets to AliExpress's no-surprise shipping price. Add up the weights before you choose a line.

How do you avoid Oopbuy clone sites?

rep.tools lists copycat domains among Oopbuy's weaknesses, and one of them, oopbuy.online, scores 12 out of 100 on the Gridinsoft scanner. AliExpress shoppers meet the same trick as look-alike 'AliExpress' payment pages, and the defence is identical:

• Type the address yourself — oopbuy.com — rather than following a link in a spreadsheet, a comment or a message.
• Be suspicious of other endings such as .online, .shop or .vip unless Oopbuy itself points to them.
• Stop at odd payment requests. Gift cards, crypto addresses or a personal bank account are never how a real agent takes money.
• Check the domain on Scamadviser if anything feels off; it takes a few seconds.

Community sheets make this worse, because a single swapped link among hundreds is easy to miss. Converting every row to the original Weidian or Taobao listing with the link converter removes the problem: you then only ever type the agent's own address.

What do Oopbuy's reviews and terms actually say?

Oopbuy's Trustpilot page shows 894 reviews, 551 of them from the past year, and no score. Trustpilot says the rating is unavailable because of a guideline breach, and that it removed reviews it judged not genuine. rep.tools had logged roughly 797 reviews averaging about 4.2/5 before the score was pulled. Of the reviews that remain, praise is for speed and support; complaints are mostly about shipping costing more than the estimate.

For comparison, AliExpress sits at 1.9/5 from 188,401 reviews. Neither number tells you much about a single order. A withdrawn score says Oopbuy's review collection broke the rules; it doesn't prove the service is poor. It does mean the stars can't be used to compare it with other agents, which leaves fees, storage and a small first order as the real test.

Oopbuy spreadsheets after Pandabuy

Oopbuy grew fast in 2024 and 2025, after Pandabuy closed, so a large share of newer community spreadsheets are built on Oopbuy links. That's useful to know when you inherit one: the rows are almost always Weidian or Taobao items, and they will work at any agent once converted. It is also why the clones appeared — a popular name is worth copying.

If you are coming from AliExpress, treat the first Oopbuy order as a test. Pick two or three items, keep the balance small, screenshot the checkout breakdown, and see how the QC photos and the final shipping bill compare with what you expected. Any charge that wasn't advertised is then easy to prove.
